Text messages

Text messages from Famly Link

Famly Link sends text messages for two reasons, and both require permission first. This page explains what we send, when, what it costs, and how to make it stop.

What we send

  • Your invitation. When a family organizer invites you to help with care, we send one text with your private invitation link. It works once and stops working after 14 days.
  • Reminders and urgent alerts. Only if you opt in inside the app: appointment reminders, everyday-help reminders, and urgent Care Team Alerts when something needs you.

How permission works

  • Invitations. The person inviting you must confirm on the invitation form that they have your permission to text you. We keep a record of that confirmation with a date and time.
  • Reminders and alerts. You opt in yourself in the app's Notification settings: you enter your own mobile number and tick the box that says "Yes, text me Famly Link reminders and alerts." Nothing is sent until you do.

How often, and what it costs

An invitation is a single text. Reminders and alerts vary with what's happening — usually a few a day at most. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your phone plan.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any text and we'll turn texts off for your number, with one confirming reply. Reply HELP for help. You can also turn text messages off anytime in the app's Notification settings.
